Join us for an engaging introduction to the meaning behind Scotland’s mountain and place names. In this relaxed workshop, you’ll learn common Gaelic words found on maps, discover how names describe the land and its features, and gain confidence pronouncing them. Perfect for hillwalkers, climbers and anyone curious about the stories hidden in our hills. No previous Gaelic knowledge required!

The 1-hour workshop will be lead by Eilidh Cameron Sykes, with a Q&A opportunity at the end. Eilidh is a Gaelic Speaker from Lochaber with a background in media, heritage, and outdoor culture. She works as a Gaelic Development Officer with Trees for Life and the National Trust for Scotland, and is the founder of Beinn Nibheis, the first outdoor sports retailer for and by women.
