Airson taic a thoirt do luchd-teagaisg agus do dhaoine òga pàirt a ghabhail ann an Seachdain na Gàidhlig, tha sinn air ultach de ghoireasan a tharraing còmhla ann an com-pàirteachas le foillsichean foghlaim, Twinkl Alba. Am measg nan cleasan is ghoireasan tha planairean airson luchd-teagaisg, susbaint agus cleasan airson clann sa bhun-sgoil agus san àrd-sgoil aig ire fileantais is ionnsachaidh – a’ dèanamh cinnteach gum faigh clann agus luchd-teagaisg a bhith an sàs ged a bhiodh iad fhein fileanta no a’ tòiseachadh air Gàidhlig ionnsachadh.
We would love you to join us for our most ambitious Seachdain na Gàidhlig yet, and celebrate the richness and vibrancy that Scottish Gaelic brings to life in Scotland and beyond. We will be running free, daily online workshops for school children of all ages, tailored to both English Medium Education (EME) and Gaelic Medium Education (GME) schools, throughout Seachdain na Gàidhlig | World Gaelic Week from 19th – 25th February 2024. Each daily session will last approximately 30 minutes, and will be hosted and facilitated by fluent Gaelic speaker, singer and presenter Joy Dunlop, and will include:
- A mix games and songs
- A short story with current Gaelic Ambassador of the Year, Linda Macleod
- Special guest appearances from renowned Gaelic speakers who are using Gaelic in their everyday lives, inspired by this year’s theme of Your Language, Your opportunity.
- Quizzes and activities to test pupils active listening skills
Schools are encouraged to attend as many sessions as they can throughout the week, but are not required to attend all sessions to have an enjoyable experience.

National Gaelic Assembly for all Primary Schools (open to both Gaelic English Medium Education)
Who can take part?
- The sessions will target Primary School pupils P1-7 pupils.
- For English Medium Education schools, no previous experience of Gaelic is necessary – we will provide sessions for classes with all levels of Gaelic experience.
- For Gaelic Medium Education schools, sessions will be presented in Gaelic.
- The National Gaelic Assembly will be presented bilingually.
- All content and videos will be subtitled in Gaelic and English when spoken in either language.
- We will provide themed resources that can be used in class with all age groups, and templates for the workshop participants.
What are the benefits of taking part?
- This is a special and exciting opportunity for children across Scotland to come together to experience and celebrate Scottish Gaelic as an important part of Scottish cultural identity and life, in a fun and engaging way!
- In the workshops children will develop literary confidence, listening and linguistic skills and will be encouraged to think about their identity and community.
All participating pupils can receive a Seachdain na Gàidhlig | World Gaelic Week 2024 certificate available to download and print from Twinkl.
