Sùil air: Comhairle nam Pàrant BGSI – Cèilidh Teaghlaich // Case Study: BSGI Parent Council – Family Ceilidh

Air Seachdain na Gàidhlig, le taic bho Mhaoin nan Tabhartas Beag, chaidh cèilidh a chumail le comhairle nam pàrant Bhun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis ann am Balloch a bha fosgailte do sgoilearan, daoine aig an robh ceangal ris an sgoil, agus duine sam bith eile. Bha an oidhche mar thaisbeanadh air cho beòthail ‘s a tha a’ Ghàidhlig agus a cultar ann an coimhearsnachd na sgoile. Chòrd an cèilidh ris na bha an làthair. Chaidh leotha mar a bha iad an dùil ‘s an dòchas agus sheall e do dhaoine gu bheil àite aig a’ Ghàidhlig ann an suidheachaidhean sòisealta neo-fhoirmeil.

Bidh cuid a bha aig a’ chèilidh fhathast a’ bruidhinn air agus a’ faighneachd airson tachartasan eile dha leithid, agus tha daoine a chaill an tachartas seo airson a bhith aig an ath fhear.

Thuirt pàrant, ‘Tha sinn an dòchas gum bi tachartasan mar seo ann nas trice, far am faigh mo phàiste air Gàidhlig a bhruidhinn ann an suideachadh sòisealta neo-fhoirmeil. ‘S e deagh bheachd a th’ ann an cèilidh airson Gàidhlig a chleachdadh taobh a-muigh na sgoile.’

On Seachdain na Gàidhlig, with support from the Small Grants Fund (Bòrd na Gàidhlig), the parent council of Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis held a family ceilidh that was open to pupils, those associated with the school, and all members of the public. The night showcased to everyone how vibrant and alive the Gaidhlig language and culture is in the school’s community. The event was a great success and everyone had a great night. The event went as the parent council had hoped and planned by proving that speaking and enjoying the Gaidhlig language and culture is still very vibrant in informal social situations.

This event still has those who attended taking about how much they enjoyed it. Many people have asked when they will be organising another Gàidhlig family ceilidh as they enjoyed it so much, and those who missed it would like to attend the next one.

A parent said, ‘Having an event where my children can speak and hear others speak in an informal situation is something that we are looking to do more often. Having this ceilidh is a great way for my children to enjoy this outside of school.’
