’S e cearcall seinn Gàidhlig a th’ ann an ‘Seinnidh Sinn’. Bidh sinn a’ coinneachadh gach seachdain. Bidh fàilte ron a h-uile duine a bharrachd air craic, cultar agus fealla-dha. Bidh sinn a’ seinn measgachadh de dh’òrain Ghàidhlig. Thigibh ann agus seinnidh sinn òrain còmhla!

We are a Gaelic singing circle that meet weekly. All abilities are welcome. We sing for the joy of singing. We meet every Tuesday and sing a variety of Gaelic songs. Come away in and sing!

A performance-led talk on myth, identity and the greatest literary hoax of all time James Macpherson’s 1746 Ossian poems. Martin O’Connor will speak about his 2025 National Theatre of Scotland performance Through the Shortbread Tin linking Ossian’s myth to Martin’s own personal journey with his Scottish/Gaelic identity. Bookbug Sessions are free story, song and rhyme sessions for children aged 0-5 years and their mums, dads and carers. Sessions last around 30 minutes and everyone is welcome!

Join the Lothian Gaelic Choir for a pop-up performance in the relaxed surroundings of the Storytelling Court to celebrate Seachdain na Gàidhlig 2026 (World Gaelic Week). Performances will be at 1-1.30pm and 2-2.30pm.

‘Rainy Gaelic Words’ Workshop with Raasay Primary School

Children from Raasay Primary School will be making an artwork featuring Gaelic words, phrases and idioms for ‘rain’, to feature in the National Library of Scotland’s 2026 exhibition RAIN, which opens in June 2026.

Special Edition of Songs from the Gaelic World for Seachdain na Gàidhlig

Special programme of Songs from the Gaelic World on Cambridge Radio about the island of Hiort/St KIlda with some songs and tunes associated with the island and the Gàidhlig language. To be broadcast initially at 2000 on Sunday 22nd but available online during the week at www.Cambridge.Radio and at www.mixcloud.com/Martainn

Taigh Cèilidh Inbhir Pheofharain

As part of Seachdain na Gàidhlig 2026, Fèis Rois are delighted to be launching ‘Taigh Cèilidh Inbhir Pheofharain’ as part of the their Gaelic language, music and culture events programme. The evening will consist of Gaelic songs, conversation and music from Calum Alec MacMillan, Coll MacDonald and Iain MacInnes of the band Marloch. There will also be music from young Gaelic speaking Fèis Rois participants. The evening will be through the medium of Gaelic and promote an opportunity for Gaelic speakers and learners to come together in a relaxed, social gathering. Non-Gaelic speakers are also welcome to attend. Refreshments will be provided and there will also be an opportunity for anyone to share a tune, a song or a story as the night goes on, so please bring your instruments to join in.
