Seachdain na Gàidhlig
World Gaelic Week
Seachdain na Gàidhlig is facilitated by Hands Up for Trad, Scottish Charity No 035 190.
Established in 2022 and funded by Bòrd na Gàidhlig, Seachdain na Gàidhlig (World Gaelic Week) celebrates Scottish Gaelic across the globe and aims to raise the profile of Gaelic through community initiatives, schools’ engagement, projects and events.
Anybody can take part or run their own event – the initiative offers opportunities for Gaelic speakers, and those without the language, to get involved in a way that suits them. Whether you are in Scotland or further afield – get in touch if you would like to discuss an idea.
Our ‘Small Grants Fund’, supported by Bòrd na Gàidhlig, offers grants of up to £500 for individuals, community groups and organisations. Funding applications opens 24 September 2024.
Discover more about our theme for 2025— ‘Building Connections’ —how you can get involved in running or attending events, and meet the team helping to bring the festival to life.
We would love you to join us for our most ambitious Seachdain na Gàidhlig yet, and celebrate the richness and vibrancy that Scottish Gaelic brings to life in Scotland and beyond.
For more information and to talk to us about how you can help Seachdain na Gàidhlig, please contact our Development Manager, Persephone Nichol-Bose, on persephone@handsupfortrad.co.uk.
We welcome support from individuals, organisations and businesses alike.
