Join us for a series of welcoming and inclusive Gaelic workshops celebrating Seachdain na Gàidhlig (Gaelic Week) at Refuweegee. Whether you’re new to the language or a seasoned speaker, these events offer a chance to connect through song, conversation, and culture.

Tuesday 25th February | 4:00 – 6:00 PM
Gaelic Singing Workshop – Open to All
Come and experience an introduction Gaelic Singing in this relaxed and friendly workshop led by singer Mischa Macpherson. No prior experience with singing or Gaelic is needed—just an interest in learning something new! This session is open to all and provides an opportunity to explore Scotland’s national language through music.
Age Requirement: 16+ (Children welcome if accompanied by a parent or guardian)

Gaelic Singing Workshop – Open to All

A welcoming Gaelic song workshop led by Mischa Macpherson. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, this session is an opportunity to learn traditional Gaelic songs in a friendly setting.
Age Requirement: 16+ (Children welcome if accompanied by a parent or guardian)
Duration: 1.5 hours
12:30 – 14:00 | Gaelic Café Drop-in
Join Linda Macleod and Mischa Macpherson for an informal and interactive Gaelic café session. Learn more about Gaelic, Scotland’s national language, and explore some basic phrases through games and activities—all while enjoying a cup of tea and some snacks. A great opportunity to try something new and meet new people
Age Requirement: 16+ (Children welcome if accompanied by a parent or guardian)
Duration: 1.5 hours
14:00 – 15:00 | Informal Ceilidh & Music Sharing Session
Come together for a relaxed ceilidh-style gathering, where participants from the singing workshops (and anyone else who wishes to) can share what they’ve learned. Whether you’d like to sing a song, recite a poem, or simply listen and enjoy, this is an open and inclusive space to celebrate language and music in any form. All languages and contributions are welcome! The session will be hosted by Linda Macleod and Mischa Macpherson.
