Sùil air: Còisir Ghàidhlig Dhùn Èideann – Seinn Chòisir // Case Study: Edinburgh Gaelic Choir – Introduction to Gaelic Choral Singing
Air Seachdain na Gàidhlig, le taic bho Mhaoin nan Tabhartas Beag, bha bùth-obrach aig Còisir Ghàidhlig Dhùn Èideann le Joy Dunlop aig an stiùir. Bha 28 an làthair agus dh’ionnsaich iad trì òrain bhon leabhar Ceòl nan Còisir – Sìne Bhàn, Gleann Bhaile Chaoil agus Athchuinge. Bha am measadh air an latha gu math togarrach agus bha an tachartas soirbheachail.
Tha an còisir an dòchas gu bheil iad air aire a thogail mu sheinn chòisir am measg dhaoine nach bi mun cuairt air ro thric. Tha iad cuideachd a’ sireadh bhuill ùr – cuiribh fios gu còisir-dhuneideann@hotmail.co.uk ma tha ùidh agaibh.

On Seachdain na Gàidhlig, with support from the Small Grants Fund (Bòrd na Gàidhlig), Edinburgh Gaelic Choir ran a choral workshop led by Joy Dunlop. The group of 28 participants learned 3 songs from Ceòl Nan Còisir purple book – Sìne Bhàn, Gleann Bhaile Chaoil and Athchuinge. Verbal feedback on the day was very positive. The event went very well with a very good atmosphere.
The choir hopes to have widened the knowledge of Gaelic Choral Singing among people who would not normally have had access to it. They are also looking to recruit new choir members – if you are interested, please get in touch with coisir-dhuneideann@hotmail.co.uk
