The young people will be encouraged to showcase their own Gaelic skills by performing on stage if they wish. DESCRIPTION:Còisir Alba was created to represent Scotland at the Eurovision Choir competition in Gothenburg but it proved such a positive experience\, that we have continued to explore further opportunities to promote our Gaelic language and culture on an international stage. As part of Seachdain na Gàidhlig\, we’re embracing the Do Chànan. Do Chothrom (Your Language. Your Opportunity) theme and holding a workshop with award-winning composer Sileas Sinclair\, to learn one of her fabulous Gaelic song arrangements. \n\n\nWe will finish the workshop with a ‘work in progress’ public performance of the piece\, supported by performances of our previous material\, and we’d love you to join us. This is open to anyone to attend and is free of charge. We will then close the day with an informal ceilidh\, and open the floor to impromptu performances from both choir members and the public. DESCRIPTION:Parkour Outreach is having a Gaelic parkour jam (or Ceilidh!) for World Gaelic Week and to launch the full version of Pàrcair na Gàidhlig! For age 14+\, all levels of experience. \nPàrcair na Gàidhlig is a project for Gaelic speakers interested in parkour\, and parkour practitioners interested in Gaelic. Pàrcair na Gàidhlig started with Eden Alley-Porter\, who is a parkour practitioner and Gaelic learner in Naarm/Melbourne\, Australia. She had the idea of creating Gaelic-English translations of common parkour words so she could use Gaelic more often in her day-to-day life. SUMMARY:Making a Song and Dance about Gaelic
DESCRIPTION:Park Primary School in Invergordon is celebrating Gaelic Week\, kicking off with a day of Gaelic puirt-a-beul and step dance for all pupils on Monday 24th February\, 2025\, with dancer Sophie Stephenson and singer Christina Stewart.  Each class will learn steps and sing and continue the week with a Gaelic treasure hunt featuring figures of speech and a t-shirt competition with Gaelic phrases and exclamations.  Gaelic Week culminates in a special whole-school assembly centred on Gaelic language and culture\, building connections with Park Primary school today and our Gaelic heritage and community – and where competition prizes will be awarded. \nAir Diluain an 24mh den Ghearran\, 2025\, tha Bunsgoil na Pairce ann an Inbhir Ghordain gu bhi comharrachadh Seachdainn na Gaidhlig.  Bi dannsair Sophie Stephenson agus an t-seinneadair Cairistiona Stiùbhart ag ionnsachadh dannsa-ceum agus puirt-a-beul dha na chloinn.  Thuilleadh air a seo\, troimhn’ t-seachdainn bi “treasure hunt” agus farpais leinne-t dha chuir air doigh ‘sa sgoil\, far a bheil cothrom aig a chlann a bhi lorg agus ag ionnsachadh abairtean Gàidhlig.  Aig deireadh na seachdainn\, thig a sgoil gu leir cruinn comhladh airson co-thionnal a tha brosnachadh an ceangal a tha eadar an sgoil ‘sa choimhearsnachd Gàidhlig.  Bi duaisean dha thoirt dhan fheadhainn a bhuannaich na farpaisean.
