The game “Lorg-Glaschu” will bring you on a short trip through time through the medium of Gaelic. Come and play with us! \nWe will meet at 2pm at the start of the canal at Speirs Wharf\, Port Dundas (55°52’15.8″N 4°15’28.5 W)\, and then we will follow the treasure hunt trail to the Claypits in Hamiltonhill\, learning more about the history of the Canal and surrounding areas. \nYou will need: \n–              A fully charged mobile phone with phone data (we will use this website for the game: https://www.lorg-glaschu.com) \n–              Clothes and shoes that are comfortable for a bit of walking \n–              Your Gaelic skills – but don’t worry if you are not fluent or very confident. While the website is entirely in Gaelic and aimed at encouraging the use of the language\, the game itself is simple and there will be additional resources for those who need them – such as hyperlinks and word lists to help you describe what you see\, and build your skills in the process! If you have any questions about any of this\, feel free to get in touch. \nDepending on numbers we might play in small teams\, and once again we will take into account fluency and confidence to put everyone at ease! If you would like to take part\, please let us know on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/LorgGlaschu or via email to lorg.glaschu@gmail.com \nAccessibility: \nWe will be walking on a fairly level\, paved ground. Note there is a short cobbled section. The trail is about 1 mile/ mile and a half long. \nThe entire game is outdoors. \nFamily and children-friendly event. Note there is more reading involved in this one compared to the Kelvin Scavenger hunt. \nThere are signs in English by Scottish Canals all along the way which contain some of the information the game refers to\, which can support your understanding of the Gaelic game texts. \nThank you! \nFeel free to get in touch if you have any questions at all! \nHopefully see you there! 😊
