Seiseanan-fiosrachaidh // Information Sessions

Bha dà sheisean-fiosrachaidh againn mu Sheachdain na Gàidhlig air 3 agus 22 Samhain air Zoom agus abair gun d’ fhuair sinn ultach de dhaoine a bha airson tuilleadh fhaighinn a-mach mun seachdain. Bha fiù duine no dhithis againn a thàinig a-steach à Nova Scotia! Bha còmhradh glè mhath ann mu amasan na seachdain agus beachdan air mar a gheibheadh daoine air pàirt a ghabhail.

Mura d’ fhuair sibh cothrom a dhol chun na seiseanan fiosrachaidh, nach cuir sibh fios thugainn air admin@seachdainnagaidhlig.scot agus bhiodh Grant no Shona gu math toilichte coinneamh fa-leth a chur air dòigh dhuibh air Zoom no air an fhòn.

We held a couple of successful information sessions about Seachdain na Gàidhlig on 3rd and 22nd November on Zoom, where we had a good number of people join us to find out more about the aims of the week. We even had a couple of folk tune in from Nova Scotia! There was a good conversation about the aims of the week and ideas on how everyone could be involved.

If you weren’t able to take part in either session but would like more information, please let us know on admin@seachdainnagaidhlig.scot and Grant or Shona would be delighted to arrange a Zoom call or a phonecall.

Cumaibh na Cinn-latha! // Save the Dates!

Tha Seachdain na Gàidhlig, a bhios ga chumail air 20-26 Gearran 2023, ag amas air gàirdeachas a dhèanamh air a’ Ghàidhlig air feadh an t-saoghail. Bu chaomh leinn sgoiltean, coimhearsnachdan, daoine fa-leth, agus buidhnean fhaicinn a’ gabhail pàirt san t-seachdain, ge bith a bheil sibh fileanta, ag ionnsachadh no nach eil agaibh ach facal no dhà! Bidh rudeigin ann airson daoine aig gach ìre.

Nach tòisich sibh ri smaoineachadh air ciamar a b’ urrainn dhuibh a bhith an sàs ann? ’S dòcha gum bi cèilidh agaibh, no madainn le cofaidh is cèic. Dh’fhaodadh gun gealladh sibh Gàidhlig a chleachdadh fad na seachdain air na meadhanan-sòisealta agaibh, no gun ionnsaich sibh faclan Gàidhlig dhur peataichean! Innis dhuinn na h-abairtean as fheàrr leibh, no faighnich do chuideigin eile mar a chanas iad rudeigin. Tha iomadach dòigh anns am b’ urrainn dhuibh tighinn còmhla rinn gus Seachdain na Gàidhlig a chomharrachadh!

Ma tha beachd agaibh airson tachartas no ma tha sibh a’ sireadh beagan thaic, nach cuir sibh fios thugainn air admin@seachdainnagaidhlig.scot. Bhiodh sinn ro thoilichte cluinntinn bhuaibh!

Seachdain na Gàidhlig (World Gaelic Week), which takes place between 20-26th February 2023, aims to celebrate Gaelic across the world. We would love to see schools, communities, individuals and groups taking part in the week whether you are fluent, learning or only have one or two words!

Take this as your cue to start thinking about how you could get involved. You could host a cèilidh or a coffee morning. You could promise to use only Gaelic across your social media for the week, or to teach a couple of Gaelic commands to your pets! Tell us your favourite phrases, or ask someone else how they could say something. The possibilities are endless!

If you have an idea for an event or are looking for some support or guidance, please don’t hesitate to contact us on admin@seachdainnagaidhlig.scot. We would be delighted to hear from you!
